Ladd Scavnicky began his photographic career in 1986. After graduating from the New York Institute of Photography, Ladd began photographing weddings part time. He became a member of the Professional Photographers of America, the Professional Photographers of Ohio and the Society of Northern Ohio Professional Photographers.
In 1990, Ladd opened Scavnicky Photography and Video in Mentor, Ohio. He attended the Winona International School of Photography in Chicago to advance his knowledge in photography.
In 1995, the studio name was changed to North Bay Gallery Portrait and Wedding Designs. Ladd began photographing children, families and high school seniors due to increased demand. Wedding couples of the 80's and early 90's were beginning to have families and were requesting Ladd's creative services. He appeared on FOX8 TV and NewsChannel 5 for his introduction of Limited Edition Children's Portraiture to the area.
Ladd earned the title of Certified Professional Photographer in 1997 through the Professional Photographers of Ohio. He also became PPA Certified with the Professional Photographers of America in 1999. He also received his Craftsman Degree with the PPA in Atlantic City in 2002. Ladd has now received every degree offered by the PPA. Ladd earned his Master of Photography Degree in 1999 and was also elected President of the Society of Northern Ohio Professional Photographers (SONOPP), the Cleveland affiliate of the Professional Photographers of Ohio. After serving seven years on the Board of Directors for SONOPP, Ladd was elected to the Board of Directors for the Professional Photographers of Ohio.
In 2006 Ladd moved to a new office on Mentor Avenue and change the studio name to North Bay Portrait Design. He currently features state of the art digital imaging and wedding album design.
